About
I was born and raised in Rome. I graduated from the Liceo Artistico and obtained a degree in scenography at the renowned Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. My first experience in show business was at a workshop assisting the head painter to create backdrops for the theatre. Then, for a short time I worked on television shows for the network Tele Monte Carlo and finally ended up in the film industry in 1997, when I was lucky enough to work on the film “Besieged”, directed by one of the greatest directors in Italian cinema, B. Bertolucci.
At first I started drawing in the art department but I have also always loved dressing the set, breathing life into a set through attention to details, it’s fascinating work to do. Thanks also to my pragmatism and organizational ability I am able to cover those two roles.
I’ve been fortunate in that I have worked for both Italian and foreign productions, with large and small budgets, in Italy and abroad. Many of these were projects by world-famous directors and production designers such as Ridley Scott, Martin Scorsese and Tornatore. I have also worked with Luca Guadagnino as supervising art directors for two of his ambitious projects: “Queer” and “We Are Who We Are”.
More recently I worked as a production designer with two Italian directors, Marescotti Ruspoli in “Amusia” and Elisabetta Sgarbi in “L'isola degli Idealisti”.
Starting a new project is always a very exciting experience as every project is unique. I never stop learning new working methods and techniques from my team and the whole crew.
Come with me, let’s start this journey together!
